POOL Tradeshow Vegas 2012-NEON Hats are All the Rage!

“Neon is going to continue to be really big,” said Smalley, a marketing associate at American Apparel…
The Veloce team set out from Los Angeles on a Sunday to prepare for the whirlwind that is the POOL Tradeshow. With nothing more than the hats and good intentions, the cash & carry booth was the perfect place to showcase Veloce Hats. The hustle and bustle of continual foot traffic allowed the team to communicate with people of all sorts and introduce Veloce as a subjective lifestyle; one that is an incorporation of your style with ours. The versatility of the hat and the vibrance of the neon colors caught the eye of many. Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) recognized Veloce Hats, and specifically neon, as an apparel trend through the “bright color craze” that we incorporate into the Veloce brand. Through the interaction POOL gave us, we were able to truly establish our brand as well as meet fantastic people over the three days spent there. More importantly, we were able to hear first hand the feedback of those who stopped by our cash & carry booth. The exhilarating experience resonates within and we can’t wait to come back!

Veloce Hats: Presents Epic Twelve

Born and raised in Hollywood, CA, DJ Epic Twelve has quickly stormed into the music industry, spinning for artists and celebrities like Cody Simpson, Jasmine Villegas, Greyson Chance, Michael Jordan, Tony Hawk and DJ Felli Fel. The sixteen-year-old prodigy is the youngest mixer to ever appear on the West Coast leading radio station, Power 106; as well as the youngest artist to win the Beezo Battle and have a residency at famed Playhouse Night Club in Hollywood. He’s also headlined at SideBar in San Diego, CA and at the current #1 New Nightclub in the United States, Fluxx Nightclub.
Epic Twelve became interested in the craft after seeing DJs at parties and worked to perfect his skills, striving to be like his heroes DJ AM and A-Trak. After a series of successful performances, management company Sneakers & Bowties (“S&B”) took notice of the young DJs intense work ethic and desire to constantly improve, eventually signing him to S&B.
Since joining the S&B team, Epic Twelve has reached incredible new heights in his career and recently finished traveling the country as part of the “#Waiting4U Tour” with Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance. The gig has opened countless new doors for Epic Twelve, who has begun work on original production material and looks forward to appearing at bigger venues in the future, showcasing his music for his fans.

“It’s All About The Girls” Love the Neon Hats!!

This past weekend marked the 20th Annual Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” event in Orange County. The race is a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. Veloce Hats felt inspired by this cause and was reached out to by Alicia Manzur, the head of team “It’s all about the girls”. After hearing Alicia’s proposition, Veloce instantly wanted to try and take part in her philanthropic endeavor. As such, Veloce hats co-sponsored her team, outfitting them with our signature Hot Pink hat from the “Partyme” Collection. This was their 4th year participating in the Race for the Cure event and will definitely not be their last. To this date, “It’s All About The Girls” has raised over $11,000 to benefit research to eradicate breast cancer, an admirable figure for a group that’s been around since 2008! Veloce Hats strongly encourages all fans to take part in future events supporting their cause. Check out their facebook fan page along with some of the pictures from this past weekend’s event!

Veloce Hats Presents: Brendon Hayward
Brendon Hayward is a name you’re going to want to remember. This up and coming skateboarder is not only talented but driven. Veloce Hats recently discovered Brendon while out and about L.A. After a brief introduction, we knew that Brendon would be THEE perfect addition to the Veloce Hats Crew. Brendon was born in Los Angeles, Ca and currently resides in the Pacific Palisades. This 18 year old started skateboarding at 11 years old and hasn’t stopped since. Veloce Hats recently interviewed Brendon to discuss skateboarding and his life.
Veloce Hats: Why did you enjoy skateboarding?
Brendon: I like skateboarding because its something I can do on my own time. Its like an escape from everything else because when I step on that board its just me and I’m able to get into my own little world where nothing else matters except my skateboard and I. I also like skateboarding because its a world of limitless possibilities. People are always skating new things and pushing tricks to new level and its a really cool way of utilizing the city and what its composed of.
VH: What does the future hold for Brendon Hayward?
BH: My future holds an enriched life filled with business opportunities, traveling, women, and of course skateboarding. I don’t know what type of career I will have whether its got to do with skateboarding or not, but regardless skateboarding will always be my passion and I don’t need it to become my career for me to stay loyal to my skateboard.
As a student at Loyola Marymount University, Brendon will surely be successful in any business endeavor he will take on after he graduates. Veloce Hats is thrilled as well as honored to have this talented young duderino as our first sponsored skateboarder.

Lockitron: “One Less Thing in Your Pocket”
Compliments of Veloce Hats: Pureveyor of the Retro Neon Hat
Veloce Hats wants to be known as a pureveyor of the carefree lifestyle, providing supporters with nonchalance towards stress, and an aloof attitude towards the superfluous. Part of this low key, laid back lifestyle is the reduction of excess; ridding oneself of as much clutter as possible, leaving them with the bare essentials. One amazing idea the Veloce Crew discovered is this amazing new company called Lockitron.
When you leave your house you usually take your wallet, your phone, and your keys. These objects clutter your pockets and some can go as far as saying that the resulting look is a deformity in your upper quad. Lockitron has created a clever way to reduce the amount of things you carry, more specifically eliminate the need for keys, thus eradicating the need to have keys bulging from your pocket, or more importantly, giving you the opportunity to remove that obnoxious carabiner jingling with keys from your belt loop. So how exactly does Lockitron work?
“Lockitron works by sending a signal from your phone through our [Lockitron’s] servers to a small device that plugs into your internet router. This in turn talks to your door telling it to lock or unlock. Lockitron is compatible with the most popular lock styles. You can order a Lockitron Self-Install Kit for your through-hole deadbolt, door knob or door handle. We offer several finishes to best match your current hardware.” -Courtesy of Lockitron
This clever idea couldn’t come at a better time, with summer winding down, many of us are leaving our beach houses and head back to the city where locks are more of a necessity than an option. So why not keep reduce the amount of things your carry? For us, we like knowing that we have one less thing on our mind to keep track of, or as Lockitron says, “One less thing in your pocket” a motto that can resonate with almost all of us.
Cheers,
Veloce Hats

Neon Hats: A Trend to Stay!
Neon hats are not just another trend.

Fads come and go, and in their wake leave a group of wild fans ready to find the next daft thing to do. Fads, however, are not completely useless. In fact they create a sense of unity, sometimes even have the power to supercede social stigmas, bringing together people from different demographics and even from different parts of the world. Some of the latest trends that have caught the eye of the Veloce Crew have been Planking, Leisure Diving, and PowerKicking. Along with each of their own Facebook fan page, what do all of these wild activities have in common? The ability to provide a sense of community among different people and, here’s the best part, it’s all for FREE! Who doesn’t love free shit? With the advent of social networks, the ability to spread and share a fad has becoming easier than ever before. Social networking may be the key to providing these new fads with longevity, forever immortalizing them into the history books. Who knows, if social networking was around in the 50s, we all still may be trying cram as many people into a phone booth, but then again, who’d be silly enough to try that ☺ With these fun fads in mind, we encourage all our Veloce Hats fans to get out there, put on their neon hats! Flip up that brim and engage in some of the latest fads the world has to offer!
Cheers,

RADiCali: Sarcasm Font

I think everyone has experienced an awkward ramification via text. How does this occur? Many times it’s the result of the inability of the receiver to understand the underlying sarcasm in the text. When this does happen everyone thinks, “WTF, why isn’t there a sarcasm font?!” A sarcasm font would probably be one of the most utilized fonts in the age of texting, instant messaging, emails, and every other thinkable form of unspoken word.
It’s quite shocking actually that someone like Steve Jobs, or Bill Gates hasn’t capitalized on this idea and incorporated it into their vast array of products. From the Android, to the iPhone, i think adding a sarcasm font would be extremely useful.
In any case, seeing as there isn’t this font I decided to create one. It’s simple really, I took the idea of italics and sort of reversed the design. Rather than the letters emulating a forward slash (/) the direction of the letters would be a back slash (\).
I think everyone can agree this font is the wave of the future in electronic communication, especially with the influx of sassy underage teens obtaining cell phones, facebook accounts, emails, and instant messaging

Veloce Hats X Children’s Hospital
Purveyor of the Retro Neon Hat

Boa Gallery - 8457 Melrose Ave. - LA/CA
This past Sunday, Veloce Hats joined the collaborative effort to fundraise money for the Children’s Hospital Benefit. This upscale gallery was lined with product from many L.A. based brands such as Brian Lichtenberg, and Kill City. To keep attendees entertained the soiree was livened up with music by DJ Johnny Danger; an up and coming LA born DJ that will surely cultivate a name for himself. As the drinks were flowing the donations followed, all of course in the name of charity. The night progressed beautifully from just close friends to curious pedestrians wondering what the ruckus was all about. As a participant in this event Veloce Hats received great exposure to THEE trendsetters of L.A. Hopefully the style resonates strongly and will continue to grow! We’d like to thank The Boa Gallery for hosting such a wonderful event and hope they raised large sums of that green for the kids!

Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Pureveyor of the Retro Neon Hat

Oi Oi Oi!
Veloce Hats has just stumbled upon this unique Australian shoe company, Gideon Shoes. What sets these kicks from the rest? The material used-Toad leather, most definitely OZ!
Although this philanthropic shoe company may appear as to base it’s business structure on TOMS’, the story behind this Australian based company is truly different. Check it:
“In 2007 Matt and Naomi Noffs started The Street University – a retreat for marginalised kids in Western Sydney. Two years later Matt and his brother Rupert came up with the idea of a shoe company whose profits would sustain it, and GIDEON SHOES was born.
Their first step was to head to Asia in early 2010 to find a manufacturer, but this research trip led them down a dark, unwelcoming path.
After visiting factories filled with both adults and children working in unacceptable conditions it soon became obvious that having GIDEON SHOES manufactured overseas simply wasn’t an option. We’re in an age where supporting sweat-shops and outsourced fashion is unforgiveable.
Today, production takes place in Australia under ethical, safe and monitored conditons – a feat for any shoe manufacturer. Even better, the shoes are handmade almost entirely from Australian materials, including cane toad hide and kangaroo leather.
GIDEON SHOES are hand-crafted and anti-sweatshop, meaning you can wear them with pride, and with your beliefs on your feet.”
Courtesy of Gideon Shoes
The entire Veloce Hats crew liked these shoes not only because they benefit a good cause, and are FRESH TO DEATH, but also because they definitely pair up nicely with our entire line of hats currently available for sale on the Veloce Hats website.
Get your hands on these Aussie Kicks at the Gideon Shoes Online Shop

The Veloce Hats Crew @ EDC LV-2011
Pureveyor of the Retro Neon Hat

-Night 1-
With over 80,000 attendees, 6 stages, evening temperatures in the 80s, and with headliners: Tiesto, David Guetta, & Swedish House Mafia, Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway was WYLD! Some of the Veloce Hats crew attended this event and claimed it was, “thee best concert we’ve been to!”
Cameron, Chris, & Jon spent their 3 night adventure enjoying the best of electronic & house music. Some of their favorite performers were Benny Benassi, Laidback Luke, & Avicii. As Cameron puts it, “From the ambiance, crowd and stage set-ups the experience was MIND blowing, they had enough strobe lights to make a blind person have a seizure, and speakers louder than the screech of any car that may have raced around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.”
